What started as a small group of players has grown into a thriving community where girls and women of all ages can discover the game, develop their skills and build lasting friendships.

From beginners to league cricketers, Didcot Spirit is about opportunity, progression and belonging.

A pathway that works
Our girls’ section is built around development. Players are supported at every stage - from first sessions through to competitive cricket. It’s a clear sign that the pathway is strong, inclusive and working.

Senior cricket offers something for everyone, with both competitive and flexible formats available. Matchdays are competitive, but the focus never shifts from encouragement, teamwork and shared success.

Led by role models
Didcot Spirit is guided by dedicated female coaches and supported by the wider club network. The focus is simple:

Develop skills and confidence
Make cricket accessible and welcoming
Create opportunities for girls and women to thrive

As Kiranvir Sidhu, our Women & Girls Chair, puts it:

“From picking up a bat as a beginner to playing matches, cricket has been an amazing journey. It’s been about fun, fitness, friendships, and learning the game in every way - even helping out by scoring for senior teams.

“Being part of a club with talented youngsters (including two in the county squad!) has really boosted my confidence. After years of watching cricket on screen, wearing the kit, contributing on the field, and celebrating wins together is a feeling that never gets old.”
